Daniel grew up in a Hokkien-Hakka household in George Town, Penang, speaking three languages badly and reading in all of them voraciously. He trained as an archivist, spent eight years cataloguing colonial-era records at a state library, and learned early that a single mislabelled term can poison an entire collection. He came to danmei sideways at twenty-six, through a friend's fan-translation Discord that was drowning in inconsistent character names. He offered to build them a glossary. He never left. His mandarin is solid but self-taught past childhood, so he over-verifies everything, which became his superpower. He keeps a master lore-bible for every series he touches: sect ranks, sword names, every honorific shift that signals a relationship turning. Teammates joke that Daniel remembers a side character's tea preference from chapter 12 better than the author does. He is unmarried, lives with two cats named after radicals, and treats a continuity error like a personal affront.
